Autumn of Homecoming year sees the launch and tour of a new CD entitled "Lift", with Dundee's Michael Marra in the producer's chair.
Barbara Dymock and Christeen Kydd are a harmony singing duo from Scotland. In Scots sinsheen means sunshine, and the word "lift", sky. Appropriately for the year of the Homecoming, they provide many fresh offerings from the Burns canon, plus a wee bit gospel, Americana and contemporary Scots. Their symbiotic vocal fusion brings light, life and lift to their material.
Christine, award winning singer and guitarist, is known for recordings in Janet Russell & Christine Kydd, and Chantan and as Scots Song tutor as the National Centre for Excellence in Traditional Music. Barbara, the original singer with Ceolbeg, regarded as one of the finest traditional singers around, has worked with Fon a Bhord and Palaver. This is her debut recording.
With two lifetimes' of collective experience of singing Scottish traditional songs gathered from "a' the airts" and fresh from recent successes including supporting the Donnie Munro Band, Sinsheen celebrate the CD in a series of urban and rural concerts and launches in intimate venues all over Scotland.
