The 2018 Turnip Prize exhibition at Bank Street Gallery in Kirriemuir is, finally, underway. Sponsored by local firm Gordon Dobbie Heating & Plumbing Ltd, this year’s competition shows a wide variety of media as local - and not so local - artists reflect their perception of the world around them; for good or ill!
Whether your bag is protection of the environment or the confusion of multiple referenda and the chaos they can cause, there is something for everyone. If life feels like a game of snakes and ladders to you, the new board game proffered by John Harvey of Witch’s Blood fame is a must-see.
The exhibition runs until 13th April 2018 but our sponsors this year would like your help. They have setup an unusual popularity poll; simply write the name of your favourite piece on a ping-pong ball and drop it into the “vase-o-meter”! Do stop in at the Gallery and leave your mark for their guidance! Gordon Dobbie, our chief sponsor, says “Any help at all from the public will be much appreciated!”
The prize winner will be announced at an open evening on Thursday 5th April 2018 at 5.30pm
